News Topical, Digital Desk : To evade investigation agencies, the operators of the online betting website Mahadev Satta App have begun deceiving people again by making a slight change in the spelling of its name. The new name uses a double A (Mahadev instead of Mahadev).

The app was taken action against by the ED in 2023 after investigating a money laundering case of around Rs 6,000 crore, but now it has become active again during the IPL and election season.

On this app, bets are being placed on the results of cricket matches, as well as on the number of runs scored in an over, the number of wickets lost, etc. Furthermore, betting is also being done on political prospects and predictions of which party will win how many seats in the assembly elections in Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Assam, and Puducherry.

The betting amount typically ranges from 100 to 10,000 rupees. The app continues to operate despite a 2025 ban on online money gaming. The app's promoters, Saurabh Chandrakar and Ravi Uppal, have been eluding police custody for the past two years. Both are residents of Bhilai, Chhattisgarh.

Investigating agencies have information that these two are currently operating the entire network from Dubai. It should be noted that the Anti-Crime and Cyber Unit of Raipur has arrested 14 accused in three online gambling cases so far in 2026.

During this period, property worth approximately Rs 1.92 crore including Rs 1 crore 4 lakh cash, laptop, mobile, vehicle, banking documents has been seized.

Police raided a gambling den in Raipur on Monday and seized ₹6.34 lakh, a Mercedes car, and two iPhones. The accused, Rahul Singh and Ritesh Kumar Anand, were arrested. Other suspects are absconding.
