News Topical, Digital Desk : The Mahabharata war was not just a battle for a piece of land, but a fight for honor and justice. On the 16th day of the war, an incident occurred that struck terror into the Kaurava camp and healed the Pandavas' age-old wounds with justice. This was the day Bhima fulfilled the terrible vow he had made in a crowded assembly.

This story begins not on the battlefield, but years earlier, in the assembly of Hastinapur, where Draupadi was dared to be disrobed. Dushasan not only dragged Draupadi by her hair into the assembly, but also crossed all limits of humiliation. At that moment, Bhima, filled with anger, vowed, "I will rip open Dushasan's chest on the battlefield and drink his blood, and Draupadi will wash her hair with that blood."

16th day of the war

On the 16th day of the Mahabharata War , when the sun was at its peak, Bhima and Dushasana faced off. Bhima looked like death itself at that moment. According to ancient texts, as Bhima saw Dushasana, the years-old insults danced before his eyes. A fierce mace battle ensued between the two, but Bhima's ferocity was unstoppable.

Bhima shattered Dushasana's chariot with a powerful blow of his mace. Dushasana fell to the ground, and Bhima pounced on him like a lion. According to mythology, Bhima, using his immense strength, began lifting Dushasana up and throwing him down. Finally, Bhima pinned Dushasana to the ground and placed his knees on his chest.

Fulfillment of a terrible vow

The entire Kurukshetra battlefield came to a standstill when Bhima ripped open Dushasana's chest with his bare hands. True to his vow, he drank Dushasana's blood and roared, "Dharma has triumphed." Bhima then took Dushasana's blood to Draupadi. Draupadi washed her hair with the blood and tied it back after years.

The scene was so horrifying that the entire Kaurava army, including Duryodhana, trembled. It is believed that this incident symbolized that anyone who tampers with the honor of a woman will meet a similarly horrific end.
