Soha Ali Khan has revealed that Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor faced severe criticism when they decided to get married. However, the two stuck to their decision and got married in a private ceremony in October 2012.
While giving an interview to Nayandeep Rakshit for his YouTube channel, Soha was asked if she faced harsh criticism due to her intercaste marriage and how it affected her.

In response, she said, "I don't think it affected me at all because I feel that as long as the people I love, care for and respect are on the same page as me, then everything is fine."
He added, “There will be a lot of haters, a lot of voices, and that's okay. I don't mind everyone having their own opinion. So I think these things are like interfaith marriage.”
Strange headlines were made during Saif's wedding
Soha Ali Khan recalled, "When Kareena and Bhai got married, there were a lot of weird things going on - love jihad, ghar wapsi, all sorts of weird headlines. You know, 'You took one of ours, now we'll take one of yours.'
Saif Ali Khan once told Rediff that Kareena's father, Randhir Kapoor, had received anonymous letters containing threats claiming harm would be inflicted on the family, including that the wedding venue would be targeted.
