Fasting rules and simple worship method
- Eat Satvik food from the night of Dashami Tithi and wake up early in the morning on Ekadashi day and wear clean clothes after taking bath.

- Especially use yellow flowers, fruits, sesame seeds and basil leaves in the puja, because these are very dear to Lord Vishnu.
- Take a vow to fast by remaining without food the whole day or by eating fruits and do not let any bad feelings towards anyone come into your mind.
- Reciting Vishnu Sahasranaam on this auspicious occasion is considered very beneficial, which removes future obstacles.
- Next day, on Dwadashi Tithi, break the fast in the auspicious time and conclude the fast by donating to a needy person, so that the father's wealth increases.
Aarti time and attainment of results
The full benefits of Ekadashi worship are achieved only when the Aarti is performed according to the prescribed rituals. Performing the Aarti of Lord Vishnu after the morning worship, and especially at night, is considered very auspicious.
