News Topical, Digital Desk : As soon as he took over the responsibility of the presidency of the BRICS organization, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has made it clear that India will try to redefine this organization. In the BRICS summit held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, the leadership of BRICS for the next year was handed over to the Indian Prime Minister.
Modi said- 'Under India's BRICS presidency next year, we will continue close cooperation on all subjects. We will work on redefining BRICS. BRICS will mean Building Resilience and Innovation for Cooperation and Sustainability.'
'We will take BRICS forward in the spirit of humanity first'
Modi further said that just as during our presidency we brought breadth to the G-20 and gave priority to the issues of the Global South in the agenda, similarly during our presidency of BRICS, we will take this forum forward with a people-centric and humanity first spirit.
'India will leave no stone unturned to ensure successful organisation of BRICS'
It is clear from this statement of the PM that India is leaving no stone unturned in organising BRICS successfully. In addition to its 10 members, 12 partner countries and at least 10-15 specially invited heads of other countries are expected to visit India for the BRICS summit next year.
President of China can also come to India
India will specially invite countries keeping in view its interests and relations. If everything goes well, global leaders like Russian President Vladimir Putin, Chinese President Xi Jinping may also come to India to participate in the BRICS summit next year.
It will also have to be seen how America reacts to the commitment shown by PM Narendra Modi in the Brazil meeting regarding BRICS and the way he praised this organization. President Donald Trump is not very happy about BRICS.
