
News Topical, Digital Desk : Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national president JP Nadda on Sunday said that with 14 crore members, BJP has become the largest political party in the world. He said that BJP has two crore active members.
JP Nadda said that the party has 240 Lok Sabha members, about 1,500 MLAs and more than 170 members in Legislative Councils across the country. The Union Minister praised the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi while addressing a party rally in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh.
"BJP governments in 13 states"
He said, "We (BJP) are the largest political party in the world with 14 crore members. There are NDA governments in 20 states of India and BJP governments in 13 states. We are the largest representative party in the country. We have 240 MPs (Lok Sabha). We have about 1,500 MLAs. We have more than 170 members in Legislative Councils."
Nadda said that in the 11 years under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, there has been politics of performance and accountable government, while in the previous governments there was politics of non-performance and they did not do development work. He said that the previous governments had even forgotten the promises made in the manifestos.
"Earlier there was politics of appeasement"
The Union Health Minister said that earlier there was politics of nepotism, corruption and appeasement. The BJP president said, "We come from a party which has an ideological base." Referring to the development work done in Andhra Pradesh, Nadda said that the Center has provided Rs 15,000 crore for the construction of the capital Amaravati.
