News Topical, Digital Desk : As part of a campaign to curb crime in Jodhpur city, the Mahamandir police station recorded a major success late Friday night (December 5). Police arrested two notorious criminals with illegal weapons, averting a major incident in the city.
Jodhpur Police Commissioner Omprakash Paswan, while giving information, said that a reward of Rs 50 thousand was announced on Naresh Valmiki, a resident of Udaipur, who was among the arrested criminals, while his accomplice Aman Valmiki is from Jaisalmer.
They were hiding in the cremation ground and plotting the murder.
Police had received information that some youths living at a cremation ground in Jodhpur's Bhadwasiya area were having suspicious activities. Acting on the information, Mahamandir police station raided the site and two young men on the scene began running upon seeing the police. The police team surrounded them and apprehended them.
During interrogation, it was revealed that the two arrested youths were the state's most wanted criminals and were staying at the crematorium to avoid police detection. They were plotting to murder a young man from Udaipur.
Hardcore criminal Naresh has 37 cases registered against him.
The arrested accused, Naresh Valmiki, has a serious criminal record. He has over 37 criminal cases registered against him, including six to seven murder (302) cases. The IG of Udaipur Range had announced a reward of 50,000 rupees for Naresh's arrest.
According to police, Naresh had been absconding for a long time and was involved in criminal activities with his gang in various districts. His accomplice, Aman, is also wanted in several cases and has been involved in weapons and illegal activities. Three pistols, two rounds of ammunition, and a luxury car were recovered. Preliminary investigations indicate that this car was also being used in criminal activities.
Criminals caught due to vigilance of police personnel
The role of Mahamandir Police Station officers Prakash and Ratan was crucial in this entire operation. Their quick presence of mind prevented the criminals from escaping and surrounded and apprehended them. Police officials praised the two officers, saying that their vigilance prevented a major crime from occurring.
The Mahamandir police station has been taking strict action against criminals for the past few months. They have achieved significant success in several cases involving illegal weapons, theft, robbery, and contract killing gangs. This latest action is another important step in this campaign.
