News Topical, Digital Desk : A shocking case has come to light at the Child Care Hospital in Shahganj, where a half-developed fetus was found in the stomach of a newborn. This rare condition has even shocked doctors.
Sundari Devi, a resident of Azamgarh, gave birth to a baby boy in a hospital there on Monday. When the newborn's health deteriorated, the father, Chandan Bind, took him to the Child Care Hospital in Shahganj on Tuesday. After examination, pediatrician Dr. Mahfooz Ahmed advised an ultrasound.
An ultrasound performed by radiologist Dr. Farooq Arshad confirmed the presence of a partially developed fetus inside the newborn's abdomen. Doctors say this condition is called fetus in fetu. This is an extremely rare condition in which a second fetus begins to develop within one fetus, but fails to fully develop. Such cases are rare.
Currently, a team of doctors is constantly monitoring the newborn's condition. Dr. Mahfooz Ahmed explained that such cases can be successfully managed with timely and appropriate treatment.
