News Topical, Digital Desk : India launched a scathing attack on Pakistan at the 61st session of the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC). On February 25, Indian diplomat Anupama Singh, exercising India's right to reply in the high-level segment, categorically rejected the allegations made by Pakistan and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).

He said that Pakistan continues to spread false propaganda, and now its jealousy is clearly evident. India clearly stated that Jammu and Kashmir has always been, is, and will remain an integral and inseparable part of India.

Anupama Singh stressed that the 1947 merger of Jammu and Kashmir with India was completely legal and irreversible, in accordance with the Indian Independence Act and international law. She urged Pakistan to vacate the Indian territories it illegally occupies. The OIC was also criticized for becoming an "echo chamber" of one member country.

A befitting reply was given to Pakistan by mentioning the Chenab Rail Bridge

Referring to the development taking place in Jammu and Kashmir, Anupama Singh said that if the Chenab Rail Bridge, which is the world's highest railway bridge and was inaugurated last year, is fake, then Pakistan is either delusional or living in 'la la land'.

The bridge, which stands 359 meters above the Chenab River and is 35 meters taller than the Eiffel Tower, was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on June 6, 2025. The bridge plays a vital role in connecting Kashmir to India's rail network.

He further stated that Jammu and Kashmir's development budget is more than double the bailout package Pakistan recently requested from the IMF. This clearly demonstrates the rapid pace of development in Jammu and Kashmir, while Pakistan is grappling with an economic crisis.

Pakistan's lecture on democracy was rejected

Anupama Singh hit back at Pakistan's questioning of democratic processes. She said it's difficult to listen to lectures on democracy from a country where civilian governments rarely complete their full terms. The recent general and assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir saw high voter turnout, clearly demonstrating that the people there have rejected the ideology of terrorism and violence and are moving towards development.

He said that people now want peace and progress and electoral participation is proof of this.

Advice to Pakistan to improve internal crisis

Finally, Anupama Singh leveled serious accusations against Pakistan, saying it is attempting to destabilize the region through state-sponsored terrorism. She advised Pakistan to focus on its deep internal crisis rather than attempting to conceal its problems by staging a drama in multilateral forums. The world has already seen through Pakistan's hypocrisy.

India reiterated that Jammu and Kashmir is rapidly progressing politically, economically, and socially. This is the latest example of the bitter diplomatic war between India and Pakistan over the Jammu and Kashmir issue, including at forums like the UNHRC.
