News Topical, Digital Desk : Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha dismissed five government employees: teacher Mohammad Ashfaq, laboratory technician Tariq Ahmed Shah, assistant lineman Bashir Ahmed Mir, forest department field worker Farooq Ahmed Bhat, and health department driver Mohammad Yusuf.
During the investigation, it was revealed that these five employees worked for the terrorist organizations Lashkar and Hizbul Mujahideen. While holding government positions, they were drawing salaries from public funds while secretly advancing the terrorist organizations' agendas. The LG administration has so far dismissed 85 government employees who were found to be working for terrorist organizations.
Zero tolerance policy towards terrorism
This action is part of a systematic campaign to clean up the government machinery to eliminate terrorist overground workers (OGWs), facilitators, and sympathizers who have managed to infiltrate government service over the past few years. Since assuming office, the LG administration has adopted a zero-tolerance policy towards terrorism and its facilitators. Since 2021, more than 85 government employees have been dismissed for terrorist-related activities.
Supported terrorist activities while holding government positions
According to security and intelligence agencies, the dismissed employees were actively involved with terrorist organizations such as Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and Hizbul Mujahideen. While holding government positions, they allegedly facilitated terrorist activities, recruitment, logistics, fund transfer, and communication between terrorists operating in Jammu and Kashmir and their handlers in Pakistan. Officials said these individuals misused their access to government positions and sensitive locations to support terrorist activities.News Topical, Digital Desk :
