Along with this, the UN has confirmed the formation of a special women terrorist wing called 'Jamat-ul-Muminat' by Masood Azhar, expressing concern over the changing strategies of the terrorist organization.

Jaish-e-Mohammed's hand in the Red Fort attack

Indeed, Jaish-e-Mohammed has a long history of terrorist activities primarily targeting India. In its latest report, the UN stated that a member state has reported that Jaish-e-Mohammed has claimed responsibility for several attacks, including the November 9 attack on the Red Fort in New Delhi, which killed 15 people.

The UN report states that on October 8, Jaish-e-Mohammed leader Masood Azhar formally announced the establishment of a women-dominated branch called Jamaat-ul-Muminat. The new organization's explicit purpose was to support terrorist attacks, signaling a shift in the group's recruitment and support strategies.

UN warning

A UN monitoring team has warned that despite sustained counter-terrorism pressure, groups like Jaish-e-Mohammed continue to demonstrate adaptability through new recruitment models or symbolic, impactful attacks

According to the UN report, even though some terrorist organizations have been weakened or fragmented, their ability to reshape, reorganize, and attack high-profile targets remains a serious threat to regional and international security.

Why action is not being taken against international terrorism

It is worth noting that the UN monitoring group also highlighted the current state of terrorism. While some countries consider Jaish-e-Mohammed to be active and operationally dangerous, another member state maintains that the organization has become inactive, reflecting persistent gaps in intelligence assessment and on-the-ground response.

Such inconsistencies have complicated international counter-terrorism operations in South Asia.
