News Topical, Digital Desk : While the Madhya Pradesh Police has announced recruitment for the posts of Subedar and Sub-Inspector after eight years, the youth of Madhya Pradesh are happy on one hand, but on the other hand, they are also upset that young people from other states are being given the same opportunities as the youth of the state. The main issue here is the upper age limit.

In the previous exam, the maximum age limit was 28 years for candidates from other states and 33 years for unreserved candidates from Madhya Pradesh. Now, the age limit has been increased to 33 for outside candidates as well. They are not given the benefit of reservation in Madhya Pradesh, meaning they will apply here in the unreserved category.

The application process will begin on October 27.

The Staff Selection Board released the recruitment advertisement on Monday. Applications can be made starting October 27th. The preliminary written examination will be held on January 9th, 2026. Recruitment is being conducted for 500 posts, including 28 Subedar posts, 95 Sub-Inspectors in the Special Armed Forces, and 377 posts in the District Police Force and others.

Recruitment came in 2017

The first recruitment took place in 2017. Subsequently, due to COVID and other reasons, recruitment was halted, resulting in over 150,000 young people preparing for the exam exceeding the maximum age limit. They were demanding a two-year relaxation in the age limit for the unreserved category, from 33 to 35, but the government refused.

Loss to the youth of the state

It should be noted that the government previously abolished the requirement of registration with the employment office for police recruitment. This also harmed the state's youth. Because young people from other states were less likely to register in Madhya Pradesh, making them ineligible at the time of application.
