News Topical, Digital Desk : PM Modi is addressing the "India AI Impact Summit 2026" being held at Bharat Mandapam in the national capital. Outlining India's priorities around the vision of inclusive and sovereign AI, PM Modi said that the younger generation is rapidly embracing AI. It's a matter of pride to see young talent participating.

During his address at the AI Impact Summit, PM Modi said that India creates  and rapidly adopts new technologies. He called India a "  hub of  tech talent " and the country with the largest youth population.

Historic AI Summit

PM Modi began his address at the AI Impact Summit by saying, "A hearty welcome to all of you to this historic AI summit in the world. On behalf of 1.4 billion Indians, I welcome you all."

PM Modi said, "This AI Summit is being held in India, which is home to one-sixth of humanity. India has the youngest population in the world. It is home to the largest tech talent pool and one of the largest technology enablement ecosystems."

PM Modi said, "Some people are skeptical of new technology. But the way the younger generation is embracing AI has never been seen before. There has also been tremendous enthusiasm for the AI Summit exhibition here.

Representing over 100 countries, dignitaries from all corners of the globe are taking this Summit's success to new heights. The presence of the younger generation we've seen here instills a new confidence."

AI changed the pace of development

PM Modi said, "There have been some turning points in human history that changed entire centuries. These turning points determined the direction of civilization and altered the pace of development. Artificial Intelligence is one such change in history. AI is making machines intelligent. At the same time, it is increasing human capabilities manifold."

Therefore, the real question today isn't what AI might do in the future. It's what we do with AI in the present. The journey from machine learning to learning machines is both rapid, deep, and comprehensive. Therefore, we must have a big vision and an equally big responsibility.

Along with the current generation, we also have to worry about what form of AI we will hand over to the future generations."

PM Modi said that humans should not become mere data points for AI, nor should they be reduced to mere raw material. Therefore, AI must be democratized. It must be made a vehicle for inclusion and improvement, especially in the Global South.

The vision India has for AI is clearly reflected in the summit's theme: "For the welfare of all, for the well-being of all." This is our benchmark. Introducing the MANAV vision for AI, PM Modi said, “MANAV means human.”

  • M stands for Moral and Ethical System.
  • A stands for accountable governance.
  • N stands for national sovereignty.
  • A stands for accessible and inclusive.
  • V means valid and legitimate.

We have the talent, the energy capacity, and the policy caliber. I'm also pleased to inform you that three Indian companies launched their AI models and apps at this summit.

PM Modi said that there are two types of people in the world today. First, those who see fear in AI. Second, those who see destiny in AI. I say with pride and responsibility that we do not see fear; India sees destiny in AI, India sees a future in AI.
