
News Topical, Digital Desk : One person was killed and five others, including two children, were injured when a car fell into a ravine after being hit by boulders falling from a hill in Uttarakhand's Rudraprayag district on Sunday. Police said the incident occurred around 5:45 pm on the Kedarnath National Highway between Kund and Kakragad when boulders falling from the hill caused the car to go out of control and fall into a ravine on the river bank.
Police arrived at the scene and found one person unconscious and five others injured. All were immediately sent to the Community Health Center, Agastyamuni.
Names of the deceased and injured-
Police said Mukesh Kumar, 40, a resident of Shanti Nagar in Barabanki district of Uttar Pradesh, died in the accident. The injured included his wife, Anjali Maurya (32), daughter, Amoli (5), Lucknow resident Arun Maurya (40), his wife, Rachna, and two-and-a-half-year-old daughter, Pihu.
Everyone was returning from Kund towards Rudraprayag.
The accident occurred while they were returning from Kund to Rudraprayag. Meanwhile, Kedarnath MLA Asha Nautiyal called the Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Rudraprayag, and instructed him to provide all possible assistance to the injured.
