News Topical, Digital Desk : A US delegation is expected to visit Pakistan in the coming days for a new round of direct talks with Iran. However, Tehran has not yet confirmed whether it will participate in the talks. These talks will be the second attempt at face-to-face discussions in Islamabad.

The initial talks ended without agreement and a ceasefire was declared. Both sides subsequently accused each other of violating the two-week temporary ceasefire, which is set to expire Wednesday evening US time.

I am winning the battle by a huge margin.

President Donald Trump told Bloomberg News that the chances of extending the ceasefire were "very slim." In a separate interview with PBS News, he warned that if no agreement was reached by the deadline, bombs would explode everywhere.

Soon after, Trump wrote on Truth Social, "I am winning a war, and by a huge margin. The situation is excellent, our military has done a fantastic job. The enemy is confused because they get the same media reports and yet they realize that their navy is completely destroyed, their air force planes are now parked on dark runways, and they have no anti-missile or anti-aircraft equipment left."

"Most of their old leaders are gone (apart from everything else, this is a 'regime change'!) and perhaps most importantly, the 'blockade' that we will not lift until a 'deal' is reached is completely destroying Iran."

Will Iran join the talks or not?

Trump had earlier said he did not know whether Iran would attend the scheduled talks. He said, "They should be there. We have agreed to be there." Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baqai said on Monday that Tehran had no plans for the next round of talks and no decision had been made.
