The Chinese Ministry of Commerce shared a post on social media and wrote-

China has indicated it will resolve the issue through dialogue. However, the Dragon has also made it clear that it will not be intimidated by US tariffs. China will also refrain from taking drastic steps to protect its economy.
The tariff will be applicable from November 1.
China's response comes two days after Trump announced tariffs. Donald Trump has imposed a 100 percent tariff on sugar, which will take effect on November 1. It's worth noting that rare earth minerals are a major source of tension between the US and China.
Why did the tariff war start between China and America?
China plays a vital role in the global supply chain for rare earth minerals. 70 percent of the world's rare earth minerals are mined and 90 percent are processed in China. China recently amended its rules governing the export of rare earth minerals.
Ships transporting rare earth minerals from China are required to obtain special licenses. The Trump administration views this move as an economic weapon, leading to the imposition of tariffs on China.
