More time to explore options
Until now, the Railways used to prepare reservation charts approximately four hours before train departure. Now, this timeframe has been extended to nine to 18 hours. This change will allow passengers, especially those traveling from distant locations, to receive timely information about whether their tickets are confirmed. If not, they will have more time to explore other travel options.
Illegal ticket agents also under control
This railway plan not only provides clarity to passengers but also helps curb illegal ticket agents. Refund rules have also been improved, with no additional fees for passengers. Passengers will also receive financial relief.
You can change your boarding station half an hour in advance.
Under the new system, passengers have been given even more convenience. Passengers will now be able to change their boarding station up to half an hour before the train's departure. Furthermore, if seats are available, they will also be able to upgrade their travel class up to half an hour before the train's departure. Commercial Inspector in-charge DD Shukla says that until now, charts were prepared approximately four hours before train departure, but this has been increased to nine to 18 hours.
