News Topical, Digital Desk : The Madhya Pradesh government transferred 24 IAS officers on Tuesday. These transfers have replaced the collectors of a total of 12 districts. Collector Sanjeev Srivastava, who had a dispute with BJP MLA from Bhind Narendra Singh Kushwaha over illegal sand mining, was removed by the government.
Meanwhile, Dindori Collector Neha Marwa, who was embroiled in controversy over her working style, has also been replaced. MLA Omprakash Dhurve had also filed a complaint against her. Chhindwara Collector Sheelendra Singh has been posted to the ministry.
Who all were transferred?
Meanwhile, Usha Parmar and Neeraj Kumar Vashishtha have been appointed collectors for the first time. The government has reassured the 2016 batch of officers by appointing them as collectors. Preparations for the replacement of collectors in several districts had been underway for some time. Given the festive season, it was believed the changes would occur after Dussehra, but upon receiving the green light from Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, the General Administration Department (Personnel) implemented the transfers.
The removal of officers against whom there were controversies or complaints included Bhind Collector Sanjeev Srivastava. However, the IAS Association stood by the MLA during his dispute with the IAS officer. They even submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister stating that field officers should not be treated this way.
The government may have removed him due to political circumstances, but has reassigned him to a crucial department like the Public Works Department. Furthermore, officers who had not yet been appointed collectors despite their seniority have been given opportunities. This includes Neeraj Kumar Vashishtha.
Neeraj Vashisht served in the Chief Minister's Office during the tenure of former Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. The decision to give new responsibilities to Chhindwara Collector Sheelendra Singh, a 2010 batch officer, has already been made. Tanvi Hooda, Additional Commissioner of Commercial Taxes, has been given the additional charge of Labor Commissioner.
