News Topical, Digital Desk : A fire at Sawai Man Singh Hospital in Jaipur claimed the lives of several patients admitted there. The health department claims the death toll is six, but the families of the deceased are unconvinced. They claim the incident claimed eight lives.

Sarvesh from Agra and Digambar Regar from Sawai Madhopur are the two names the health department is refusing to acknowledge as dead in the fire. Dr. Sushil Bhati, the suspended deputy superintendent of the trauma wing, says some patients were in critical condition and had to be transferred outside. They died because of this, but not necessarily because of the fire.

Health Department released the list

The Health Department has released a list of six people who died in the fire. The fire broke out on the second floor of the Neuro ICU, where all six were admitted. Digambar and Sarvesh were not in this ward. They were admitted to the semi-ICU ward, so their names are not included in the list of those killed in the fire.

Digamber Regar's story is similar. His brother Kailash said that after the fire, no help was available, so they removed the oxygen support and carried Digamber out. However, the health department does not consider the deaths of Digamber and Sarvesh to be fire casualties.
