News Topical, Digital Desk : The missile fired by Houthi rebels destroyed Israel's entire air defense system. The missile reportedly crossed four layers of air defense and fell just 75 meters from Terminal 3 of Ben Gurion Airport.

 

This attack created a 25 meter deep crater. On this, Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Sari said that Israel's main airport is no longer safe for air travel. Meanwhile, the Israel Airport Authority said that operations at the airport have been started.

 

Missile fell in sensitive area

Let us tell you that the area where the missile fell is one of the most sensitive areas of Israel. About 8 people are said to have been injured in the attack. Israel has very advanced technology to counter air attacks.

The system, known as Iron Dome, is designed to intercept short-range rockets, as well as shells and mortars, at ranges of 4 km to 70 km from the missile launcher. However, the system did not function properly on Sunday.

 

Siren kept ringing in Israel

  • As per protocol, sirens were sounded in many areas of Israel. Several attempts were made to stop the missile. After the attack, many people posted videos filmed with smartphones, in which clouds of black smoke are clearly visible.
  • The Israeli police commander, Yair Hetzroni, showed reporters the crater created by the missile's impact. Airport officials said the missile fell on the roadside near the Terminal 3 parking lot. There was no major damage in the attack.
