There was a cloudburst incident in Samej of Shimla district, the capital of Himachal Pradesh, late on Wednesday night. 6 families are reported missing. About 36 people are missing. The search for the missing people has been started. There is also a report of the Ascent Hydro 6 MW project being washed away in Samej.

Apart from this, a cloud burst in Ganvi village of 15/20 area at around 11 pm. There is no report of any loss of life here. But it is reported that two to three houses, fields, gardens, school buildings and other things have been damaged.

DC Shimla has reached the spot on behalf of the district administration. While a team of doctors from Rampur's Khaneri Hospital has left for the spot. SDM Rampur and other officials have also reached the spot.

SP and DC reached the spot

A cloud burst has occurred near the hydro project in Samej Khad in Jhakdi of Rampur area. The District Disaster Management Authority received information about the cloud burst early Thursday morning. Deputy Commissioner Anupam Kashyap and Superintendent of Police Sanjeev Gandhi have also left for the incident site.

Deputy Commissioner Anupam Kashyap said that as soon as the information about the incident was received, NDRF and SDRF teams, police, rescue teams have left for the site of the incident. He said that according to the information we have received, 36 people are reported missing from the area affected by the cloudburst.

SDM Rampur Nishant Tomar is reaching the spot. Due to the road being closed at many places, he has to walk two kilometers with the equipment.

Rescue operation started

Deputy Commissioner Anupam Kashyap said that relief work has been started immediately. He said that ITBP and Special Home Guard contingent have also been included in the rescue team. He said that all the teams are working together in the rescue operations. All the basic facilities including ambulances have been included in the rescue operation.

Formation of committee

He said that a committee has been formed under the chairmanship of Additional Deputy Commissioner, which includes police, home guard, fire brigade, Sunni Dam management and other departments.

The gates of Larji dam have been opened up to 37 meters. Three gates of Pandoh dam have been opened 10, 8 and 7 meters. About 1.25 lakh cusecs of water has been released from the dam.

JP Nadda assured help

Union Health Minister JP Nadda said that today we have received sad news of widespread damage caused by cloudburst in various parts of Himachal Pradesh, affecting normal life.

In reference to the continuous natural disasters, had a detailed talk with the Chief Minister of the state Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu over the phone and got information and was assured of all possible help from the government of respected Prime Minister Modi ji.

He appealed to the Leader of Opposition in the state Jai Ram Thakur, BJP State President Rajeev Bindal and BJP workers to provide help to the people of the state in this critical time.
