
News Topical, Digital Desk : A bus was hit by a landslide in Bilaspur, Himachal Pradesh. Eighteen people were killed in the accident. A total of 30 people were on board. The President, Prime Minister, and Home Minister of the country have expressed grief over the incident.
The President said this
President Draupadi Murmu said, "The news of the death of many people in the bus accident caused by a landslide in Bilaspur, Himachal Pradesh is extremely saddening. I express my condolences to the families who lost their loved ones and wish a speedy recovery to those injured."
PM Modi also expressed grief
"Saddened by the loss of lives in the accident in Bilaspur, Himachal Pradesh. My thoughts are with the affected people and their families in this difficult time. An ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh will be given to the next of kin of each deceased from the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund. Rs 50,000 will be given to the injured," PM Modi said in a post on X.
Amit Shah's statement came
Union Home Minister Amit Shah posted on Instagram, "Extremely saddened by the bus accident caused by a landslide in Bilaspur, Himachal Pradesh. NDRF teams have reached the site and are engaged in rescue operations. I express my condolences to those who lost their loved ones in this accident. I also wish the injured a speedy recovery."
CM Sukhu expressed grief
Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu also expressed grief over the incident. He said on the social media platform, "The news of the massive landslide near Balughat (Bhallu Bridge) in the Jhanduta Assembly constituency of Bilaspur district has deeply shaken me. I have received the sad news of the deaths of several people after a private bus was hit by this massive landslide, and many others are feared trapped under the debris. The rescue operation is underway on a war footing. Officials have been instructed to deploy full machinery. I am in touch with the local administration and am receiving minute-to-minute updates on the entire rescue operation. May God grant peace to the departed souls and provide strength to the bereaved families. I stand with all the affected families in this difficult time."
