News Topical, Digital Desk : Monsoon rains disrupted normal life in many states on Tuesday. Many cities including Surat, Vapi in Gujarat had to face the problem of waterlogging. Many parts of Nashik in Maharashtra were submerged due to the overflowing of the Godavari river and coastal Kerala also received rain. The Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an alert warning of heavy rains in many parts of western, central, eastern and southern India in the next few days. 

 There is a possibility of heavy rain in these states from 25 to 30 June

The Meteorological Department said that rain activity is likely to increase in North-West India from June 25. Heavy rains are expected in Konkan, Goa, Madhya Maharashtra and Gujarat, Saurashtra and Kutch during June 25 to 30. Along with this, heavy rains are likely at isolated places in Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Western Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan during June 25 to 30. Heavy rains may occur in Jammu and Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad during June 25 to 27.  

Heavy rain alert in Bihar-Jharkhand

Heavy rains are expected in Haryana and Punjab on Wednesday and Thursday. Heavy rainfall is expected at isolated places in Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha and Chhattisgarh from today till June 28. During this period, strong winds can blow at a speed of 40 to 50 kmph. There is a possibility of rain in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim on June 29. 

How will the weather be in Delhi today

The Meteorological Department in Delhi has issued a 'yellow alert' for Wednesday, predicting rain and thunderstorms. The sky may remain cloudy. Today the maximum temperature is likely to be around 34 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature is likely to be 27 degrees Celsius. 

How will the weather be in South India and Northeast

The weather department said that light to moderate rain, thunderstorms, lightning and one or two heavy to very heavy rains are likely to continue at many or most places over Northeast India during the next 7 days. Heavy rains are likely at isolated places over Kerala and Karnataka during June 25 to 28. Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam will receive rains on the 27th.

Strong surface winds with speed reaching 40 to 60 kmph are likely over Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, Rayalaseema and Telangana. Light to moderate rains may occur at many or some places over Kerala, Mahe, Lakshadweep and coastal Karnataka during June 25 to 30.
