In the case filed in the court, Harvard has called Trump's decision a clear violation of the US Constitution and federal laws. The university said that this decision has had an immediate and devastating effect not only on the university but also on more than 7000 visa holders.

 

'We are not Harvard without international students'

788 Indian students in HarvardA total of 10158 students and researchers from all over the world are currently registered in Harvard schools. These also include 1203 Chinese students. According to the website of the Harvard International Office, 788 students and researchers from India are registered in all the schools under the university in 2024-2025. While Harvard Global Support Services said on its website that every year 500-800 Indian students and researchers study at Harvard.

Students who complete their degrees in the current semester will be allowed to graduate. The letter from Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem said these changes will be effective from the academic session 2025-2026. However, those students who have not yet completed their degrees will have to transfer to other universities. If they do not do so, they will lose their legal status to stay in the US.
