Actually, Lord Krishna's elder brother Balram Ji was born on the sixth day of Krishna Paksha of Bhadrapada month and his weapon is plough, due to which this date is known as Hal Shashthi Vrat or Ub Chhath.
In such a situation, women who are going to observe Hala Shashthi fast for the first time must follow some rules. If these rules are not followed, the fast may break, due to which they will not get the full benefits of the fast. According to astrologer Anish Vyas, these 6 things should not be done even by mistake during the Hala Shashthi fast.
Do not do these 6 things even by mistake during Hala Shashthi fast
- Hal Shashthi Vrat, as the name suggests, is a combination of plough and Shashthi Tithi. During this fast, those things are not used which are produced by ploughing.
- During Hala Shashthi fast, one should not use cow milk or its products like curd, ghee etc. even by mistake.
- During this fast, women should clean their teeth with Mahua tooth brush. The use of any other type of tooth brush is prohibited.
- During the Hala Shashthi fast, women are prohibited from walking on the land ploughed by a plough. Doing so can break their fast.
- On the day of the fast, fasting women are prohibited from consuming non-vegetarian items like garlic, onion, meat etc.
- On this day, women observing fast should not trouble their children, because you are observing this fast for their safety. Children should also not cause pain or suffering to this mother.

- End of Bhadrapada Krishna Shashthi Tithi - 15th August, Friday, at 2:07 am
- Sarvartha Siddhi Yoga – will remain for the whole day.
- Abhijeet Muhurat- will be from 11:59 am to 12:52 pm.
What should women eat during Hala Shashthi fast?
During this fast, women should eat dishes made from water chestnut or Mahua flour. Along with this, they can consume Tinni rice, buffalo milk, curd, ghee, fruits etc. They should avoid eating things produced by ploughing.
