He died on the spot from severe head and nose injuries. When the accused informed his female friend, who lived next door to the Gurukul, about the incident, she tried to destroy the evidence to escape.
The CCTV camera was broken. The children from the Gurukul were sent home, but during the investigation, footage captured in the incident revealed the murder. The accused have confessed to their crime. The police are preparing to send both of them to jail.

Narendra Dwivedi, a resident of Gauriya in Maharajpur, works in a factory in Rooma. Due to financial difficulties at home, he sent his only son, 11-year-old Divyanshu, also known as Deepu, to study at the Ramanuja Bhagwat Veda Vidyapeeth Gurukul in Alam Nagar, Lucknow, a week ago. He was admitted to the Gurukul through his maternal uncle.
Divyanshu's elder sister, Deepshikha, also known as Deepika, went to Lucknow on April 15th with a relative to get her brother admitted. Divyanshu's maternal uncle's son also studies at the Gurukul. He learned about the free Sanskrit and Vedic education there, and sent Narendra there to study.
Leaving the child's body at home, he absconded.
On Wednesday morning, the family was informed by phone from the Gurukul that their son had fallen down the stairs and was injured. The family was preparing to leave for Lucknow when, around 11 a.m., the Gurukul operator, Kanhaiya Lal Mishra, alias Saurabh, arrived home in a car with his driver. He left the son's body outside the house and fled.
The sight of deep and serious injuries on Divyansh's body left everyone speechless. Fearing something untoward, they informed the police. The preliminary investigation revealed that Divyansh had been brutally assaulted. He had been brutally beaten and burned with cigarettes.

Based on the complaint filed by father Narendra Dwivedi, a murder case was registered against the Gurukul operator. Late Wednesday night, the police arrested the Gurukul operator. At first, he tried to mislead the police, but later broke down.

During interrogation, he revealed that ever since Divyansh had come to the Gurukul, he had been mischievous. He would not obey. He was unwilling to stay at the ashram. He was adamant on going home. Because of him, the atmosphere at the Gurukul was deteriorating.
Because of this, he was brutally beaten with kicks, slaps, sticks, and rods. He was tied up and kept alone in a room and tortured, but even then he refused to confess. Late Tuesday night, in a fit of rage, he was severely beaten in his room.
Later, he was kicked hard enough to send him crashing into a wall. He died from severe head and nose injuries. Seeing Divyansh dead, the accused panicked. He immediately called his female friend, Harshita, who lived next door to the Gurukul.
