Upon receiving the information, Sector-5 police arrived at the scene and arrested the accused. The accused was identified as Neeraj, a resident of Bhimgarh Khedi. Neeraj was a liaison officer for a private company, while the deceased elderly man was a senior advocate.
Police questioned the injured woman
In fact, on September 23, Gurugram police received information that an elderly man had been brought to the hospital dead and a woman was admitted in critical condition. When police arrived at the hospital, the woman was in no condition to give a statement. Police then learned that the deceased was the elderly woman's father-in-law. The next day, police returned to the hospital and questioned the woman, revealing that she was Preeti, a resident of Bhim Nagar, married to Neeraj, a resident of Bhimgarh Khedi.
The accused was addicted to alcohol
On the evening of September 23rd, Neeraj assaulted her. When his father-in-law, 75-year-old Gulab Singh, intervened, Neeraj attacked his own father with a cricket bat lying nearby, beating him to death. Gurugram police registered a case and arrested Neeraj. Preliminary investigations revealed that he was an alcoholic and often quarreled with his wife after drinking.

The accused frequently assaulted his wife, Preeti, under the influence of alcohol. His father, Gulab Singh, objected to this abuse. On September 23rd, when he was assaulting his wife, his father intervened. In a fit of rage, Preeti attacked him with a cricket bat and a steel rod, resulting in his death. Gurugram police are currently investigating the case. The injured woman is undergoing treatment at a hospital. Meanwhile, the police have handed over Gulab Singh's body to his family after a post-mortem examination.
