News Topical, Digital Desk : A major railway negligence has come to light in Siddharthnagar, Uttar Pradesh. On Friday (December 19th), the gatekeeper failed to close the Gauhania railway gate on the Chilhiya-Shohratgarh section at 9 a.m., and a train passed through the open gate. Fortunately, passersby showed patience, and no accident occurred. Locals filmed the incident and made it viral on social media.
The loco pilot realized the situation some distance away, stopped the train, and filed a complaint at the gate. This incident has caused panic within the railway department. Eyewitnesses say the train's speed even tore off a red flag. Railway officials have yet to comment on the matter.
What is the whole incident?
According to reports, when the Gorakhpur-Bahraich train departed Siddharthnagar, the gate was not closed due to the gateman's negligence, and the Gorakhpur-Bahraich Special Train (05131) passed by at high speed. A video of this serious lapse has gone viral on social media, raising questions about the railway administration. According to eyewitnesses, the gate was neither closed nor warned before the train arrived.
A large number of people were present on both sides.
School-going children, cyclists, bikers, and pedestrians were present on both sides of the gate. Seeing the train's high speed, people panicked and somehow managed to back away, saving their lives. Many narrowly escaped. Locals say that if there had been even a slight delay or a vehicle had come onto the tracks, many lives could have been lost. It was sheer luck that a major tragedy was averted. The train's speed was so high that it even blew away the red danger flag on the tracks. Panic gripped the people present at the scene, and traffic was disrupted for some time.
The loco pilot showed understanding.
Recognizing the seriousness of the incident, the train's loco pilot also acted quickly. He stopped the train a short distance away, lodged a complaint at the railway crossing, and informed higher authorities about the incident. The loco pilot's complaint clearly demonstrates the real danger and unacceptable negligence.
People from Jamuni village, in the Chilhiya police station area, were eyewitnesses to the incident. They said they were near the gate in the morning when suddenly a train appeared. Seeing the gate open, people started running around. Everyone's hair stood on end when they heard the children's screams.
