News Topical, Digital Desk : Gautam Buddha Nagar Police Commissionerate has arrested 12 notorious criminals in various police encounters during the last 24 hours. 6 criminals were hit by bullets fired by the police. Media in-charge of Police Commissioner Mrs. Lakshmi Singh said that Phase-1 police station was checking near Sector 14-A last night, when three criminals were seen coming on a motorcycle from Chilla. Police signaled them to stop, but they started running away with the motorcycle. He said that the police chased them and surrounded them.
The media in-charge said that seeing themselves surrounded by the police, the criminals opened fire on the police team with the intention of killing them. He said that the police opened fire in retaliation. The bullet fired by the police hit Neeraj alias Bhaiya son of Lekhraj resident of Shashi Garden, age 28 years. The police recovered three looted mobile phones, a country-made pistol and cartridges and a stolen motorcycle from him. He said that the injured criminal was sent to the hospital for treatment.
Police recovered these items from the criminals.
He told that his two accomplices Santosh son of Gyan Singh, age 22 years and Gulshan son of Brahmapal, age 20 years, who fled from the spot, have been arrested during combing. Police have recovered one knife and a stolen mobile phone from each of them. He told that these criminals have told the police that they form a gang and commit a series of thefts and robberies. More than a dozen cases are registered against them in various police stations. He told that these criminals have accepted committing more than 200 incidents of robbery in NCR. These criminals go out on bikes and commit robberies in a series.
The media in-charge said that the Phase-2 police station has arrested Irfan alias Pintu during a police encounter last night. He said that the bullet fired by the police hit his leg. He said that the police have recovered a stolen motorcycle, a country-made pistol and cartridges from him. He said that he commits vehicle thefts. He was arrested near Sector 88. He said that the injured criminal has been admitted to the hospital for treatment.

Media in-charge of Police Commissioner Mrs. Laxmi Singh told that the names of the criminals arrested during the encounter are Shadab Saifi alias Yahya, Abdul Samad, Ikram, Wahid, Nazakat Ali and Adalat. Two criminals Shadab Saifi alias Yahya, Abdul Samad got injured after being shot in their legs.
The media in-charge informed that a miscreant who used to extort money from people by threatening them wearing police uniform has been arrested by the Phase-3 police station during an encounter late last night. The media in-charge informed that the Phase-3 police station has arrested Amit son of Anil from near TP Nagar crossing during an encounter last night. He informed that he is a resident of Meerut district. The bullet fired by the police hit his leg. He informed that the age of the said miscreant is 25 years. He informed that he used to go out on a motorcycle wearing a police uniform and used to extort money from people by threatening them. He informed that a case has been registered against him in the Phase-3 police station earlier.
