News Topical, Digital Desk : Samajwadi Party national president Akhilesh Yadav made a major election announcement on Monday, saying that if the SP forms the government in the state in 2027, consumers will be given free electricity up to 300 units, while women will be provided Rs 40,000 annually as pension.

He launched a scathing attack on the government on issues of electricity, health, and inflation. Addressing workers from various districts, including Bundelkhand, at the state headquarters in Lucknow , Akhilesh Yadav said the state's people were suffering from poor health services and a fertilizer shortage. He alleged that consumers were being exploited in the name of smart meters and that electricity bills were being increased irregularly.

The SP chief said that public anger is growing against electricity fraud through smart meters. He alleged that this government takes advance commissions from companies before awarding contracts, which are then repaid by charging higher bills to consumers.

Akhilesh Yadav, targeting the BJP, said that electricity meters are also being "manipulated" like EVMs, and that the public has now understood this system. Referring to the results of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, he said that a strategy must be developed to win as many seats as possible in the 2027 assembly elections. Calling on party workers to unite and defeat the BJP, he said that a concrete strategy must be implemented to ensure victory in every seat.

Calling the government anti-democracy and anti-constitution, he said that the state's health, education, and electricity systems have completely collapsed. He claimed that if the SP forms a government, the rule of law will be restored and justice will be provided to all sections of society. He also accused the BJP of defaming socialists and said that despite its misleading propaganda, none of the BJP's tricks will work. The people of the state are fed up with the BJP and want change. He said that inflation and corruption are at their peak, the situation of women's safety is worrying, and the public has lost faith in the BJP.
