News Topical, Digital Desk : An FIR has been filed against a former senior employee of an IT company for allegedly stealing the company's proprietary software source code. According to police, the stolen software and source code are estimated to be worth approximately ₹87 crore.
The accused has been identified as Ashutosh Nigam, who was working as Senior Manager Research Scientist at Amadeus Software Labs India Pvt Ltd since February 2020.

According to the FIR, on October 11, 2025, the accused, without the permission or any official approval of the company, unauthorisedly accessed the confidential software source code and other sensitive data of the company and sent it outside through his personal email account.
Based on the company's internal investigation, records, and reports, when Ashutosh Nigam was questioned, he admitted to exfiltration of software source code (data theft). Police stated that the accused's confession was video recorded by the company. Following this incident, the company terminated the accused's services on December 3, 2025.
The source code is worth 8 million euros.
The FIR states that the stolen software and source code are worth approximately 8 million euros (about ₹87 crore). The incident has caused significant business losses to the company and compromised its intellectual property.
Based on a complaint from a company representative, a case was registered against the accused under relevant sections of the IT Act at the Whitefield CEN Crime police station on January 23. Police said further investigation into the matter is underway.
