News Topical, Digital Desk : Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday expressed deep concern over the health of former Bangladesh Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia and offered all possible assistance.
While Khaleda's party BNP, who has been the Prime Minister of Bangladesh thrice, said that her condition is critical and she has been kept on ventilator.
What did PM Modi write in the post?
"Deeply concerned to learn about the health of Begum Khaleda Zia, who has contributed to the public life of Bangladesh for many years," Modi said in a post on Twitter. "We wish her a speedy recovery. India stands ready to provide all possible assistance," the Prime Minister said.
Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) chairperson Khaleda was admitted to a private hospital in Dhaka on November 23. She complained of a chest infection that has affected her heart and lungs.
Khalida's health is very delicate.
BNP Vice President Ahmed Azam Khan said his condition was very serious. The entire nation was praying for his speedy recovery. BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam also said he was seriously ill. "Our doctors are making every effort," he said. Treatment includes local as well as foreign specialists.
