Lavrov said that Russia is in favor of providing reliable security guarantees to Ukraine. This was also discussed at a meeting of representatives of the two countries in Istanbul in 2022, a few days after the war began.

Russian attacks have once again intensified after ceasefire talks in Ukraine failed. Three people were killed and four injured when Russian tanks shelled the city of Kostiantynivka in eastern Ukraine.
