Entertainment Desk, New Delhi. Horror-comedy film 'Stree 2' is dominating the box office. In the film, women and even men of Chanderi are shown to be troubled by the terror of Sarkate. This ghostly story of the imaginary world is entertaining people a lot.
In reality, the incidents that happen are more disturbing than the horror incidents. Twinkle Khanna has expressed her views on rape incidents in her latest column, citing 'Stree 2'.
Twinkle Khanna spoke on rape incidents
Mrs Funnybones i.e. Twinkle Khanna explained in her latest column why Indian women are not afraid of ghosts. She started by narrating 'one of the apocryphal stories' from her childhood. Twinkle talked about the rape incidents that have come to light in the recent past.
Twinkle mentioned the rape of a trainee doctor in Kolkata, sexual abuse of school children in Badlapur and several other cases and explained how 'Stree 2' is a counter to these incidents."It's been 50 years on this planet. I think we are still teaching our daughters what I was taught as a child. Don't go out alone. Don't go out alone with any man, even if he is your uncle, brother or friend. Don't go out alone at night. But it's a case of when, not cab. Don't go alone because you may never come back," Twinkle wrote.
It is safer to face a ghost
Twinkle wrote, "Instead of confining us to our homes, women should be guaranteed safety in public places. But till then I think a woman in this country will feel safer facing a ghost in a dark alley than a man."
Said this for 'Stree 2'
Twinkle said that horror films like 'Stree 2' can be a way to give a social message in a world that has now become completely scary.
