In 'Tumbaad', VFX was used from Sweden and background from America. The production team worked very hard. The look of the evil god Hastar in the film was initially kept such that a special suit was made for it and the artist used to perform wearing it, but it did not work. Similarly, a lot of thought had to be put in to make the character of the grandmother terrifying.

How did a 12 year old child become a 500 kg grandmother?

The look of the grandmother that was decided in this film was 500 kg. That means after using the prosthetics completely, the weight was increasing to this much, but it was not fun. After this, the design of the grandmother was changed.

The person who played Soham Shah's son in the film also played the role of the grandmother. She was given the look that you see in the film with the help of prosthetic makeup.
