Actually, when Rajiv Thakur got the offer of IC 814, he was appearing in The Kapil Sharma Show. When it was time for shooting, the makers gave him the date of June. Rajiv had already agreed to the US tour of Kapil Sharma Show. In such a situation, he was going to refuse IC 814 due to his commitment. But Kapil Sharma postponed the US tour for Rajiv.

Speaking to India Today, Rajeev Thakur said, "It is all because of Kapil Sharma that I was able to do this show. In June last year, the series team had asked me for dates which were already fixed for our US tour. That is why I refused, but when Kapil came to know about it, he encouraged me to take IC 814."

Rajeev Thakur further added, "He told me, 'you do the series, we will take the show forward'. And that's how our show got postponed till July. I had already promised him, so I would have rejected the series, but he kept me going, and I am grateful to him for that. That's what true friends do, isn't it?"
