New Delhi: Himani Shivpuri, who has worked in superhit films like Hum Aapke Hain Kaun, Raja, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Hero No. 1 and Bandhan, has left a different mark on cinema. She has been working in the industry for 4 decades.

Himani Shivpuri has worked with Karan Johar in two films. She worked in films like Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham and Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. Karan Johar was even eager to cast her in his upcoming films, but one comment of the actress angered the producer-director.

Karan Johar was upset with Himani's statement

In an interview with Siddharth Kannan, Himani Shivpuri has revealed what exactly she said to Karan Johar due to which he removed her from Kal Ho Naa Ho. Himani said, "During the last scene of Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, Karan Johar came to me and said, 'It was great working with you Himani ji. You are my lucky mascot.' I told him, 'Please give me a good role from next time.' He said, 'Yes, of course Himani ji.'"

She was out of Kal Ho Na Ho

Karan Johar was initially supposed to cast Himani Shivpuri in Kal Ho Naa Ho, but she walked out of the film after one of his comments. The actress revealed that she met Nikkhil Advani at a screening where he told her that there was a role for her in the film. Himani said, "I asked Yash Johar, who was standing there, for the signing amount and he gave me a dollar."

Himani further added, "I told my secretary that he should meet Nikhil because I had spoken to him but when he met him, he was told that there was no such role for me. Then some more Dharma films came, I was not called, so I was surprised as to what was happening."

Karan Johar had taunted

Himani did not know why Karan Johar removed her from the film. Later she met him at an award show. There Himani asked Karan the reason for not casting her in Kal Ho Na Ho. She said, "Karan told me, 'No no Himani ji, that role was not enough for you. I will call you only when there is a role worthy of you.' Then I thought that maybe my words hurt him. This is where the chapter ended. I feel bad, it used to be a lot of fun. We used to gossip a lot and were good friends."
