New Delhi. In the year 2008, Madhur Bhandarkar came up with a film named Fashion. Now it seems that the filmmakers are preparing for its sequel. In a recent interview, the actor revealed that there is a high possibility of a sequel to this film starring Priyanka Chopra and Kangana Ranaut.
The filmmaker revealed that if he ever plans to make Fashion 2, he would highlight the diminishing influence of supermodels in today's times. He said that in today's times celebrities and social media influencers have taken the centre stage as showstoppers.
What will be the story of the film?
In an interview to Bollywood Hungama, he said, "I think Fashion has a lot of potential for a sequel. Today, the fashion world has changed. As a filmmaker, I feel I have a lot of content and hence it can be turned into a show in a few seasons. However, it can also be turned into a film. Nothing has been decided yet. But the subject is very interesting."
He further said, 'Social media has completely taken over. There was a time when we used to hear about supermodels. But can you remember the name of any supermodel in the last few years?'
The influence of influencers is on the rise
According to this, the story of Fashion 2 will be based on where the supermodel suddenly disappeared. Bhandarkar said that a girl sitting in a small town can be a model or an influencer. I want to make a film focusing on these things.
Apart from Priyanka Chopra and Kangana Ranaut, actors like Mugdha Godse, Arjun Bajwa, Arbaaz Khan and Sameer Soni were also seen in Fashion. The film revolves around the story of a girl named Meghna Mathur, who is a small town girl and wants to become a glamorous supermodel.
