News Topical, Digital Desk : In Bhadohi, Uttar Pradesh, complainant Kamalakant Dubey, who had accused the village head of corruption, was crushed to death by a car. The District Magistrate had suspended all powers of the village head, Manish Yadav, after receiving a complaint against him. Superintendent of Police Abhimanyu Manglik stated that CCTV footage, the investigation, and allegations from family members indicate that the murder was committed out of resentment over the village head's suspension of powers, and an attempt was made to portray it as an accident.
This entire incident took place on October 10, 2025, in Ramraipur, Bhadohi Kotwali area. Kamalkant Dubey, son of the late Ram Adhar, of Dhaskari, was closing his medical clinic when he was hit from behind by an Ertiga vehicle. He died on the way to the hospital due to serious injuries. According to information, CCTV footage revealed that the collision was intentional and the owner of the vehicle, Sujit, son of Mehilal, fled immediately after the collision. The son of the deceased Kamalkant alleged that the families of Pradhan Manish Yadav and Munnalal Yadav hit his father with a car late at night while he was closing his shop, killing him.
Meanwhile, in light of the complaint filed by the deceased's family and the outrage of hundreds of villagers, the local police have registered a case under relevant sections and detained two accused. Bhadohi Superintendent of Police Abhimanyu Manglik stated that 70-year-old Kamalakant had filed a complaint with District Magistrate Shailesh Kumar against village head Manish Yadav, alleging a major scam in MNREGA and other financial matters. Following this, the District Magistrate, finding irregularities in the preliminary investigation, placed a halt on all financial transactions and work of the head.
SP Manglik stated that in this connection, Mehilal Yadav, son of the late Devsharan, a member of the village head's family, has been arrested and sent to jail. The SP added that the accused named in the victim's complaint include Manish Yadav and the absconding Sujit Yadav. Further legal proceedings are underway.
