The terror of Mahishasura and the appearance of Goddess Durga

According to legend, when a powerful demon defeated the gods and took control of heaven, all the gods sought refuge in Brahma, Vishnu, and Mahadev. They were told of Mahishasura 's atrocities, which enraged the Trinity. Their anger then unleashed a fierce flame, even more intense than the bodies of all the gods. This flame then transformed into the form of a goddess, known as Maa Durga.

To fight Mahishasura, all the gods presented their weapons to Maa Durga. At the same time, Lord Vishnu, the protector of the world, created the Sudarshan Chakra and gave it to Maa Durga. This Chakra is a symbol of protection of religion. Sudarshan Chakra is mentioned in 'Durga Saptashati' of Markandeya Purana. Sudarshan Chakra keeps rotating continuously in the hands of Maa Durga, which is considered a symbol of time. According to religious belief, when any crisis comes on earth, all the powers unite in the form of the Goddess and destroy that crisis.
