News Topical, Digital Desk : Employees of a company that delivers orders for online product sellers were playing a trick. They were stealing parcels by showing fake deliveries from the company's hub.
The entire matter came to light when a customer complained about not receiving an order placed with the company. A company representative filed a case against the employees at the Sikandra police station.
Flipkart's hub in Lakhanpur, Sikandra, handles parcel delivery through Instacard Services Pvt. Ltd. Company representative RK Sharma had complained to DCP City Syed Ali Abbas about alleged irregularities by employees at the hub.
He explained that his company serves as a logistics partner across the country and also provides services for Flipkart. Agra's first hub is located in Lakhanpur village, Sikandra.
Recently, Girish Pippal of Harrison Overseas informed Hub management that several shipments were showing as delivered in the system, even though he had not received any. Following this, the company investigated the complaint.
It was revealed that Mohit Baghel, a resident of Nagla Chita, Mathura, and Sunny, a resident of Hathras, were using the IDs of fellow employees. Sunny was using the ID of his supervisor, Naresh, and Mohit was using the ID of Rahul Dixit.
Both accused used an outdated version of the company's delivery app. They manipulated scanning entries, delivery times, and records to create fake deliveries. The app recorded 51 shipment deliveries starting February 14, 2026.
Upon verification, only 27 of these shipments were received by customers. The remaining 24 shipments were found to have been fraudulently entered into the system. A detailed investigation by the company revealed irregularities in 1,443 shipments, resulting in a loss of ₹3.5 million.
Upon questioning the employees, they admitted to the fraud. Inspector Sikandra Pradeep Tripathi said a case has been registered based on the complaint of the company representative.
