He was arrested by Delhi Police in a case linked to the death of three UPSC aspirants in Old Rajinder Nagar

The court had reserved the decision on July 30

Earlier on July 30, the Tis Hazari Court had reserved its order on the bail plea of the Thar SUV driver in the case of the death of three students due to water logging in the basement of Rao Coaching Center in Old Rajendra Nagar. The hearing on this was held in the court of Judicial Magistrate Vinod Kumar.

No intention to cause death of students: Advocate

Kathuria's lawyer argued that Delhi Police is busy arresting people who have nothing to do with the accident. He argued that how can his client be blamed for this incident. He argued that his client did not know that something like this would happen due to his driving. He had no intention of causing the death of the students.

Delhi Police had protested

At the same time, Special Public Prosecutor (SPP) Atul Srivastava, appearing on behalf of Delhi Police, while opposing the bail plea, had said that Kathuria is not guilty of administrative negligence, but he made the incident more serious. Some videos taken from Kathuria's social media account were played in the court, in which he was seen driving the same SUV. During the hearing, APP had argued that the accused is of a fun-loving nature and he committed this incident in a fit of fun.

What are the allegations against Kathuria

Kathuria is accused of driving his Force Gurkha car through a road in front of the coaching centre filled with rainwater, causing one of the gates of the coaching centre to break down, allowing water to enter the basement. Police have registered an FIR under sections 105 (culpable homicide not amounting to culpable homicide not amounting to murder), 106 (1) (causing death by any negligence or carelessness not amounting to culpable homicide), 115 (2) (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt) and 290 (negligent conduct in relation to demolition, repair or construction of building) of the BNS.
