New Delhi: (Manish Sisodia Bail Update) Former Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi Manish Sisodia, who was in jail in the Delhi Excise Policy Scam case, got bail today. When the Supreme Court granted bail to Manish Sisodia, the ED lawyer demanded that the former minister be granted bail on the basis of the condition of preventing him from going to the Delhi Secretariat. Which was rejected by the court.
Sisodia, who was in jail for 17 months on charges of money laundering, got a big relief from the Supreme Court. The court had reserved the decision on August 6 after hearing the arguments on Sisodia's bail.
Sisodia had argued while seeking bail that he has been in jail for the last 17 months. The trial has not started yet. Nothing has been recovered from him. In such a situation, he should be granted bail. CBI and ED had opposed and said that Manish Sisodia is responsible for the delay in the trial.
