In the country's capital Delhi, 20 thousand people are expected to get jobs in the coming seven months. This hope has been expressed by Delhi Governor Vinay Kumar Saxena himself. He gave appointment letters to 628 people on Friday. These included 27 doctors as well. Along with this, Vinay Kumar Saxena announced that there will be bumper recruitments in Delhi in the coming time.
Vinay Kumar Saxena said, "In the last 2 years, we have given appointment letters to more than 17,000 people. Today, 628 people have been given appointment letters, who are from different departments. These include 27 doctors. The Prime Minister's dream is that more and more youth should get employment and this process will continue. Our target is to appoint at least 20,000 more people by March 2025. More than 25,000 posts are vacant in different departments. As I said, its process is going on very fast."
The unemployment rate in urban areas is 6.6%
The unemployment rate of people aged 15 years and above in urban areas in the country stood at 6.6 per cent in the April-June quarter of FY 2024-25. The unemployment rate was 6.6 per cent in the June quarter of FY 2023-24. According to an official statement, the 23rd Periodic Labor Force Survey (PLFS) shows that the unemployment rate in urban areas was 6.7 per cent in the January-March quarter of 2023-24. According to the survey, the unemployment rate among women (aged 15 years and above) in urban areas stood at nine per cent in April-June, 2024, as against 9.1 per cent in the same quarter a year ago. This rate was 8.5 per cent in January-March, 2024.
Unemployment decreased compared to last year
The unemployment rate among men in urban areas declined to 5.8 per cent in April-June from 5.9 per cent in the same quarter a year ago. This figure was 6.1 per cent in January-March, 2023. On the other hand, the labor force participation rate in the current weekly status (CWS) in urban areas for people aged 15 years and above increased to 50.1 per cent in April-June from 48.8 per cent in the same quarter a year ago. At the all-India level, a total of 5,735 FSUs (urban sampling units derived from urban frame survey) were surveyed in urban areas during April-June, 2024.
