News Topical, Digital Desk : Delhi Crime News: In a special campaign launched in the month of May to control crime and curb criminals in Delhi, the Western District Police has arrested 130 miscreants, including 15 robbers, 42 snatchers, 17 burglars and 56 thieves. These criminals are habitual offenders and were involved in various crimes.

During this operation, the police have also recovered a large amount of stolen goods including cash, mobile phones, two-wheelers and jewellery. DCP Vichitra Veer said that the Western District Police had launched a special campaign in the month of May, aimed at preventing street and organized crime and catching criminals. Under this campaign, the police analyzed the records of the criminals and formed a special team and arrested them.

Campaign against street crime

The police achieved great success in this campaign launched by the Western District Police against street criminals. The police arrested 15 accused of robbery and solved 11 cases. While solving 32 cases of snatching, the police arrested 42 snatchers and recovered 10 mobile phones, 6 gold chains and two-wheelers from them. Apart from this, 14 cases of theft were also solved with the arrest of 17 burglars.

Mobiles, cash, credit cards, batteries and iron sheets were recovered from them. While, the police solved 55 cases by arresting 56 thieves. 7 scooties, 1 motorcycle, 55 mobile phones and cash were recovered from them. Not only on the streets, the police also tightened its grip on organized crime. 38 criminals were arrested in 37 Arms Act cases. 2 pistols, 5 live cartridges and 36 knives were recovered from them.

At the same time, more than 13,500 liquor bottles were confiscated in 20 actions taken under the Excise Act. While 2 cases were registered under the NDPS Act, in which 2 accused were caught with drugs. Apart from this, 38 people were arrested in 12 cases of gambling, and Rs 3,88,100 cash was seized. The police not only cracked down on criminals, but also on those who disturbed public peace.

More than 1200 people were booked for drinking alcohol in public places. More than 550 people were booked under the relevant sections of BNSS and Delhi Police Act. Along with this, the police made special efforts and arrested 25 fugitives, who were out of police custody for a long time and were avoiding court action.
