
News Topical, Digital Desk : For the first time, a grand festival of lights was celebrated on Delhi's Kartavya Path. Organized by the Delhi Government's Department of Culture and Tourism, the festival saw the people of Delhi decorate the Kartavya Path with lamps, and the entire route from India Gate to Vijay Chowk was illuminated with the light of lamps.
One hundred and fifty-one thousand diyas were lit along the Kartavya Path. A laser sound was displayed to mark the occasion, followed by a captivating drone show showcasing figures ranging from Hanuman and Ravana to Lord Shri Ram celebrating Diwali upon his return to Ayodhya.
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said that the government's arrival in Delhi provided an opportunity to demonstrate how happy people are with the arrival of Lord Ram. This Diwali has reached every section of society. Children are happy they can burn firecrackers. GST celebrations are underway. Concerts can now be held in Delhi. When schemes like Arogya Mandir are launched, it becomes clear that Delhi's elderly are happy.
'Delhi government has shown it in 7-8 months'
He said that preparations are made for Chhath Puja, and Sikh riot victims are employed. Festivals from every state are held in Delhi. Mini-festivals are visible. From 1973 to today, there was no drainage plan. Thousands of crores of rupees worth of benefits are provided to the people. The people of Delhi waive the water bill surcharge. Whatever the previous government may have envisioned, the Delhi government has accomplished it in just 7-8 months.
'They used the government for propaganda'
The CM said, "Delhi is where residents of every class can say they belong to Delhi. May they be happy. There will be no shortage of service. Unlike the previous government and its leaders who used the government for their own publicity. Best wishes to everyone for the upcoming festivals. No effort will be spared, but it will definitely take time. May Diwali be a better one."
