Now you will get 13 lakh Pakistani rupees every month
National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq and Senate Chairman Yusuf Raza Gilani will now get a monthly salary of 13 lakh Pakistani rupees. Earlier both were getting 2,05,000 Pakistani rupees per month.
This system will be implemented from January 2025
Citing a notification issued by the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs, ARY News reported that this massive hike will come into effect from January 1, 2025. Earlier, the Sharif government had approved a monthly salary hike of 519,000 Pakistani rupees for National Assembly members and senators.
In March, the government had initially made tall claims of cutting down expenditure. Later, it approved a massive 188 per cent hike in the salaries of cabinet ministers, ministers of state and advisors. The government's move has been severely criticised by the common people who are upset with high tax rates, inflation, rising fuel and electricity prices.
