News Topical, Digital Desk : The discovery of a young woman's body in the restroom of a shop in the MP Building on District Panchayat Road in the Cantt police station area caused a stir in the area. The woman has been identified as Gangotri Yadav, a resident of Kot Kamharia, Purandarpur police station, Maharajgang district. Police arrived at the scene after shopkeepers reported a foul smell. Further investigation is underway.

Seven years ago, Gangotri opened a shop with Anil, a resident of the Kotwali area. She ran the shop while living alone in a rented house near Kaudiya in the Gorakhnath police station area. She left her house for the shop on Sunday. She has not been heard from since. When her mobile phone was switched off on Monday, her elder brother Ramesh arrived at the shop on Tuesday and found the shutter down.

Searching for her sister, they went to their rented house, but Gangotri was nowhere to be found. CCTV footage from the house showed her leaving on Sunday morning. Meanwhile, on Wednesday morning, a foul smell emanated from the shop, prompting nearby shopkeepers to alert the police. Upon arriving at the scene, the Cantonment police lifted the shutters and found Gangotri's body lying on the floor in the restroom.

Upon learning of the incident, the girl's father and others from the village also arrived at the scene. The family has alleged murder. Police have taken the body into custody and sent it for a post-mortem. According to the police, the girl's body was completely decomposed, making it unclear whether it was murder or suicide.

Inspector in charge, Sanjay Singh, said that the investigation is being conducted taking all aspects into account. The cause of death will be confirmed only after the post-mortem report. The incident will be solved soon. Some people have been detained and are being questioned.
