News Topical, Digital Desk : Coronavirus Update: Corona cases have started increasing once again across the country. In the last seven days, around 2000 cases of Covid have been reported and now this number has crossed 3000.

 

Kerala has the highest number of cases at 1,336

According to the Union Health Ministry, the number of corona cases crossed the 3,000 mark on Saturday and rose to 3,395, with Kerala reporting the highest number of cases at 1,336, followed by Maharashtra and Delhi. This is possibly the first time in more than two years that the number of active Covid cases in India has crossed the 3,000 mark.

 

467 cases registered in Maharashtra, 375 in Delhi

According to data released on Saturday, four deaths have been reported in the country in the last 24 hours, one each in Delhi, Kerala, Karnataka and Uttar Pradesh. Maharashtra has reported 467 cases, Delhi 375, Gujarat 265, Karnataka 234, West Bengal 205, Tamil Nadu 185 and Uttar Pradesh 117.

 

Rise in Covid cases in India

There were 257 active cases in the country on May 22. By May 26, the figure rose to 1,010 and reached 3,395 on Saturday. According to the data, 685 new cases have been reported in the last 24 hours and four people have died.

 

According to the Worldometer Index, which tracks Covid-19 cases, the last time the country crossed the 3,000 active case mark was on April 1, 2023, when the case load stood at 3,084.

 

‘Center ready to deal with any situation’

Let us tell you that on Friday, Union Minister of State for Health and AYUSH (Independent Charge) Prataprao Jadhav said that the Center is fully prepared to deal with any situation. Talking to a news agency, he said that our Central Health Department and AYUSH Ministry are fully alert. He assured that every situation is being monitored.
