News Topical, Digital Desk : Chief Secretary SP Goyal on Wednesday issued clear instructions to officers via video conferencing that every system, from wheat procurement to PM Kisan registration, must be visible on the ground, otherwise accountability will be fixed.

Any laxity in farmer-related arrangements will not be tolerated. The Chief Secretary said that wheat procurement must be made effective at all costs. Additional procurement centers should be established in remote rural areas for the convenience of farmers. If a farmer arrives at a procurement center without registration, they should be registered on the spot and immediate procurement should be ensured.

In a meeting held in the auditorium of his office, the Chief Secretary stated that registration of all eligible farmers under the PM Kisan Samman Yojana must be completed by April 30th. To this end, special campaigns and camps should be organized in every village secretariat from April 6th to 15th. In these camps, along with registration, name-related errors should also be resolved on the spot.

Taking a firm stance on the supply and distribution of fertilizers, the Chief Secretary directed that the sale of subsidized fertilizers be ensured 100% through POS (Point of Sale) machines. Committees headed by district magistrates should be formed to monitor this.

He directed strict action against hoarding and black marketing, and called for strict monitoring of fertilizers reaching non-agricultural areas. He also stressed the need for special vigilance in border districts and awareness among farmers about balanced fertilizer use.
